About Us
Love & Learn Children’s Center was founded by two talented business entrepreneurs which happen to be sisters. They are both mothers and share the same passion for creating a quality early childhood education that provides a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment. Their dedication and determination brought them to work together and launch Love & Learn Children’s Center in the community in which they grew up.
Lizette Terrazas – Co-Owner, Director, and Educator
Lizette has a Child Development Associate from Northeastern University with over 20 years of experience working with children ages 2-12 years of age. Her passion started as an educator at a Great Place to Grow in Schiller Park when she was a student at East Leyden High School in Franklin Park. She then moved to Georgia where she served as a Lead Preschool Educator, Curriculum Coordinator, Early Head Start Teacher, and Center Manager at Whitfield-Dalton Daycare, a United Way agency which was nationally accredited by the National Association of Early Childhood Education. Lizette’s passion and motivation are to bring the same high-quality care in which she was trained, to her hometown.
Priscilla McWherter – Co-Owner, Executive Director
Priscilla also graduated from East Leyden High School and received a Marketing Communication Degree from Columbia College Chicago. She has spent most of her career in Radio Marketing and Social Services. She has had unique opportunities to work with the State of Illinois, 103.5 Kiss FM, B96 Radio, and the Denver Broncos giving her experience in business management, marketing, and community relations. In looking for childcare for her three children, she decided to join forces with her sister Lizette, and open a children’s center that holds all the key elements that were important to her when looking for childcare. Those elements included a safe environment with nurturing and caring staff, a healthy food menu, and the opportunity to develop and maintain the Spanish language.
